USCIS is Now Requiring Adjustment of Status Interviews

USCIS announced last week that commencing on October 1, 2017 it will start requiring interviews for intending immigrants that plan to adjust status through the I-485 program. Up until now, the interviews have been waived, but under the Administration’s extreme vetting program, the requirement for those interviews, including for those with an approved I-526 EB-5 petition, has now been reinstated. Those who petitioned for EB-5s as F-1 students, or others who have a current visa in the U.S., will now have to prepare for an interview that we expect will require the applicant to know basic information about their EB-5 investment project.
